RIFA is a volunteer-run organization. It was founded as such, and we are committed to keeping it so. Having an all volunteer staff has its challenges, among them recruitment and retainment of quality coaches.

We believe, however, that the benefits of participation far outweigh those challenges. For nearly a decade, we have counted on a core of volunteers who have provided our organization and, most importantly, our youth participants incredible stability.

Our coaches not only do incredible work with RIFA, they also have careers, run businesses, attend graduate school and are growing their families.

If you are interested in working with asylee, immigrant and refugee youth in New York City, please complete and submit the below form. We ask our volunteers to make at least a one year commitment of consistent participation. Volunteers will be screened and interviewed, and those invited to join will be asked to sign a background check authorization.
